I wish the diesel tranny downshifted like the new gas trucks. At 75mph (2011 F-250 gas model) you can mash the gas pedal and it will downshift from 6th to 3rd. Very strong for passing

I'm glad it doesn't. The powerband for the Diesel is way different than the gas motor, hence why it doesn't downshift. I'm finding that the tranny seems to know what's best, especially when you mash it.

and if it did, you would have to make a u-turn to pick up parts...
