What is "invoice" price?

Hey folks. I just made a deal over the phone for invoice minus $2500 rebates. Problem is their invoice is about $900 more than what I pulled off Edmund's. I haven't actually seen the invoice yet but I remember something about manufacturers or dealers showing an advertising fee on to the invoice. If that's the case is that a legit cost? Could Edmund's be wrong?

What was the invoice price they gave you vs the price you found??

Price on Edmund's was 57,756. Dealer says invoice is 58,508. MSRP is 64,050.

Most of the time if there are discrepancies from Edmund's it is because you haven't added some thing that is on their invoice, the dealer has an option on it that either isn't listed on Edmund" or you didn't include it. Another option is now for is offering discounts if the dealer adds certain options together as packages and maybe that isn't being reflected.

you have to make sure you have all the options listed out, each option added onto the truck affects the invoice.

$900 is right around the "destination & delivery" charge I paid for on mine. The cost for shipping it to the dealer is over & above invoice and is usually passed along to the customer.

Also, you must keep in mind that there are 2 invoices. Factory invoice and Dealer invoice. I have found that the difference in the two are usually close to a Grand. Looks like you were quoted the Dealer invoice.
I always ask to see the Factory invoice and offer anywhere from 300-500 over that. In the past, it's always worked but then again, we're talking about the new and improved Super Duty (Powerstroke) and I know they're not giving them away just yet..

I'm sorry there is just ONE invoice, you might be referring to hold back though.
