HID Install
Yes, I'm the new guy with all the questions.....sorry. But I'm about to order some Xenon HID's to put into the truck, has anyone installed these into the 2011 and if so, how was it? I have them in my GSXR, and it was pretty easy, the starter ballist etc just had to be wired up, but for the most part it was a "plug and play" sort of thing.

i am not 100% sure as i personally have not installed a set on a 2011, however it should be just the same as my 08 which based on your description sounds just like the install on the GSXR, pretty much plug and play. should be the same exact simple setup.
PS, if your interested send me a private message if you havnt ordered the HIDs yet as i might be able to get you a better deal. my good buddies company has their own USA made line of HID kits that come with your choice of either a normal or slim ballast and a 1 year warranty. also these kits on our F-Series trucks do not require relay kits whereas some other brands or other vehicles do. |

Someone on here posted that they had put in the HID's. They had to remove the grill just to get access to the lights. They even posted pics. If you do a search and look around a bit, I'm sure you can find them. If I remember correctly, I believe they said it was an all day job.
So plug and play might be pushing it a little.. |

Hey guys I just recently bought a 2011 PSD. I took off my HID kit from 01 superduty, it had a 05 conversion on it. In order to install the HID kit, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE THE GRILL. All you need to do is to remove the 4 bolts on top and simply move it forward. The head lamps have four bolt to remove inorder to remove the headlamps. There is one on top, one on bottom and two on the inside that is covered up by the grill. The bolts are 10mm and you will need a rachet and socket. Once the headlamp is removed, their is lots of room to install the HID kit. The HID lights are amazing. Oh and by the way, the bulbs are H13, and fit most of the PSD (04-11), not to sure bout the earlier years. If you need anything else, just let me know. The install took about 2 hours.

Yea the lights plug and play, shouldnt take longer than 25 minutes to install!
A local custom car shop "freeman's audio and CS motorsports" all charge 100$ for their kits, they only pay 36 per kit OFF EBAY and then sell them in the store. I got a link to the exact seller they use if anyone wants it |

The thread was nice to see the pics of the front end off of it. My kit came from Elite Auto in Indy. My bulbs are 8.000k versues the ones in the thread of 4300k. I will post pics of lights when i get a sec. I also noticed that the ballist in his thread are a whole lot bigger than the ones from elite.
