2011 SD rear axle covers

In looking at new trucks it seems that the 350's now come with a new style diff cover. It looks a bit like the Mag Hytec covers.

Is this a new feature?
Hold more fluid like the Mag's?
Have provisions for a temp sending unit?

I put a Mag HT on my GMC, mainly because it increased fluid capacity for towing, almost 8 pints over the stock covers 2 pints.
