Dealers - some are just tools
And I don't mean that in a good way.
I have been to several Ford dealers now. Mostly looking to see in person the color combos. None of the dealers have a brochure. I wanted to see all the option packages and individual options available. Highway dealers are the worse. One would not even give me the list price invoice they printed out ![]() Anyway, stopped at my little hometown dealer to get my wife's car oil changed. They are also the only local dealer that comes up under the Costco program. Turns out they don't do anything over an 250 so they are not allocated to get 350's and above. No problem, but as I am walking out they say "hey, here is a brochure if you want one". Go figure. |

I had the exact same experience at the first dealership I visited. I was dressed down, old Harley sleeveless shirt and shorts, walked up to a salesman and asked for a brochure, sorry we are out! Really?? When I was ready to purchase I went back and spoke to the Fleet Manager, told him what had happened, needless to say he wasn’t pleased! I ended up purchasing at another dealership…..

Welcome to the 21st century, it's called the internet and will hold more information than a brochure ever could hope to.
And do you really expect them to hand you a copy of the invoice? |

What's funny about the brochure is that I signed up on the Ford website to receive one and never did. I realize that Ford is making changes regularly but some nice pictires and a color chart might get me more excited about dropping $65k on a new F350 KR...But hey, at this point I'm waiting for the 2012's anyway.

I travel a bit, in some parts of the country (bigger cities, Northeast) pickups are not popular as people sit in traffic, park their cars in garages at work, and they are more fuel/space concious. I have stopped at dealers and they had a few F-150's, nothing in the 250-350's at all. In Texas...the reverse is true.
I am fortunate to have three dealers in a 50 mile radius that are informed, and eager for business. I am a repeat customer at a dealer has a great staff, well informed, and that will acknowledge what they do not know, and will contact the necessary people to get the info if needed instead of bs'ing. (Other than the one guy who stated you could run on DEF after diesel ran out for 500 miles...!!!!)(Has to be at LEAST one...) |
