REFLASHED!!!

I got a call from my salesman, told me if I could bring my truck in...they could do the deed. I stopped by, they had a reflash for the engine, and another for the tranny. 12 items were addressed. Items included HPP knock at idle (which we had discussed it possibly being the vacumn pump), engine surging at low speeds, transmission upgraded regarding shifting...and the gear selector staying on once activated until you turned the truck off.

Once completed...took er for a spin. 65 more lbs of torque noticable at take off, the power curve does not peak and level off, it just keeps on pulling until the speed limiter limits you. The tranny is much more refined... night and day. The beast has more power, and is more refined, an awesome truck... just got better...

richc22a - Woo-Hoo that is great news to me!! My truck is in today for the reflash and I was hoping Ford addressed the trans on this deal. I'll take the extra power but as soon as I read your post about the trans work - I went straight to the dealer and turned mine in.

I'll post my results tomorrow after I get the truck back today. Thanks for the push friend.

Just had mine done. Picked it up about 45 minutes ago. I can't believe how much power this machine has....... just amazing!!

How is the transmission shifting? Improved?

I wasn't having a shifting problem before the reflash, so I can't really say it is improved.

My transmission prior to reflash would "hunt" for the next gear every once in a while, usually 3rd to fifth, I discussed it with the service mgr, we decided to wait for the reflash. I only have about a hundred or so miles after the reflash, and it as if the tranny was taken to obedience school! More refined, smoother shifts.

Acceleration is stronger and smooth...additional torque noticeable...

I just got back from a long drive and I DO notice the trans shifting better, in addition to the definite power increase. What a GREAT vehicle!!
