New '10 - Rusty tie rods?

I brought home a new '10 this evening with the intention of signing docs in the morning. Looking underneath the front end everything is obviously clean and mostly black powder coated....except for the tie rods. Parts of the front linkage system are not painted at all and have a typically "rust" look you would expect with common exposure. My brother's '08 with 135k milies looks better underneath than the new truck and all of his rods are black like the rest of the underneath components. Should I be concerned or is this typical?

Don't be concerned, Ford cheaped out on us 2010 owners by not painting many susp components.

just like u said, had an 08 and all was painted, got this 10 and some stuff isnt. i dont like that they did this but i dont think it will hurt anything at all. i still know they r good trucks.

I crawled under mine the 1st day with a rattle can and painted everthing I could see that wasnt painted,took about 10 min.
