Stupid Noob Question

Hey Folks,

I've search all over this forum and can't find an answer for gas tank size. My wife will tell you that I don't look worth a darn, but that's by design at home.

Anyway, I know the dealer told me that it was 37.5 gallons. So far I've only been able to put 21ish in the tank when I fill up, and it looks pretty darn empty by the gauge before I fill.

My truck is the 2011 F-250 w/ 6.7 eng. Crew Cab 4x4. How big is the gas tank?

Yates

Soopid noob j/k

I believe that the tank size is the same as the 99-10 trucks, so a shortbox is 29 gallon and a long box is 38 gallon

There is no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid answers. A lot of other forums harass newbies about simple questions, but we don't do that here. You very well may have a 26 gallon tank, but I believe there is a safety valve that only lets you put in about 21 to 22 gallons. You can modify it with what is called the "harpoon mod" to get the full 26 gallons. Also have you tried letting the foam settle after the pump clicks off? Meaning after it clicks off you wait about 10 secs and then start pumping again, but very slowly......this method is usually good for a couple gallons

The Superduty website has all of the specs for all of the configurations. On my 08 6.4 I can only get 36.x gal in my 37.5 gal fuel tank but I've NEVER run it dry.

I'm surprised that they changed the tank size for the newer trucks.

So I shouldn't have put 30 gallons in my shortbox?
