axle options for 2011 F250?

I'm considering placing an order for a 2011 F250, and I'm trying to figure out the axle options. I see:

* 3.31 Non-Limited Slip Axle Ratio
* 3.31 Electronic Locking Axle Ratio

My current truck (2005 Toyota Tundra) has a mechanical limited slip differential, and I love it. It's great in the winter when the roads are snowy/icy in patches, but with bare spots of dry pavement. It's also great when moving a trailer in/out of a site in hilly/wet/muddy/slippery conditions.

A locked rear axle is not a replacement for a limited-slip differential. Is the electronic locker axle a mechanical LSD axle when unlocked? Or is there simply no mechanical LSD option on these trucks?

Edit: I found a 2011 order guide PDF which indicates that Ford only provides mechanical LSD options for the F350 DRW and F450 trucks, and only in 3.73 and 4.30 axle ratios.

judging on how its all designed its probably not a mechanical design BUT the locker itself might be tied into the abs setup or a traction control setup where it can sense slip and whatnot then engage or just be activated by the driver. This is all just a guess but anymore thats how a lot of setups work
