Have either of you ever left the key in the accessory position when you filled up? Supposedly that puts the sending unit in calibration mode after the vehicle has been running and it f***s with the gauge.

Logically though with the engine running there should be no problems as the gauge is able to go down as you use fuel or up as you fill up. But just run the truck down to about a 1/10 of a tank a few times and it is supposed to clear up. Had the problem with an 03 6.0 and a 97 4.0 gasser
