Test Drive: My butt likes A/C seats!

Stopped at Marshal Mize Ford today in Chattanooga, TN to look at a 2010 and they just happen to have a 6.7 in stock. Got to test drive them back to back.

The 6.7 drives really REALLY nice. My wife likes the interior a lot better, minus the ugly two tone seats (the middle of the seats are almost camo looking she said). I thought over all the interior was a lot better also. The sunglass storage area is a lot better, the 08-10 just looked cheap. Three levels of heated seats vs just one on the 6.4. Also the addition of A/C seats was sooooo nice. My butt was nice and cold. It was a very nice selling point!

I hope the 6.7 is everything they say it is. I was almost dead set on getting a 2010, they were advertising 10K off sticker for the new 10s on the lot. After today I just might wait a little longer and get a 2011 after all the hoopla dies down.

Take off seemed a lot better on the 6.7 too. It just all around drove better. I still can't get past the hood and the grill but the A/C seats are a plus...lol

Yea I love the new interior but really don't like that front end at all. Maybe if it were color matched I'd like it more...have to wait and see some customized ones before I'd think of getting one.

That's me, if the front looked like the 6.4s I'd be all for it. The front end is ugly enough for me to pass so far... I figure cooled seats are easier to put in (or learn to live without) than a front end conversion!

Yea I agree....just waayyyy too big with too much chrome. I also don't like the line of the hood and how it stops completely horizontal over the headlights and on the fenders...looks strange to me. I think colormatching and maybe an aftermarket grille insert would help though.

I do want to drive one and see how the interior and new drivetrain is...definitely some cool new features and comforts that the 6.4L doesn't have. But I absolutely love my truck with no serious qualms about it and with only 27K on it I plan on keeping it for another couple of years.

Yeah I told the guy I wanted the 6.4 front end on it with solid black seats and I'd be set. It did drive a lot better and the inside (minus the two tone seats) looked a lot more thought out and better quality. I'm still leaning towards the 6.4 simply because it's cheaper and looks better. I still wouldn't turn one down. My wife liked the 6.7 better but not 15k better...lol

The grille and headlights are whats killing me too about the 11's haha. But the pics coming out now with the color matched grille shell are changing my mind on it. Wont be long before the mesh, billet, etc grilles come out to get rid of those huge chrome bars. Black headlights cant be too far off either, whether its a Harley edition, or taking them apart to paint.

Color matched grille shell, mesh insert, blacked out headlights would work WONDERS on the new front end.

The worst feature is the fugly sliced doughnut dually fenders.. Puts me right off, looks like a lick and stick on plastic bit.... Have to buy a Cab Chassis and put on a West Coast Hauler bed or something...

Anyways, Air Conditioned Seats? Is that for real or are you guys just putting us on???

The best feature would be a back only selection for heated seats... Sometimes even in summer, with a sore back from overdoing it, would be nice. I put the AC on more just so I can put the seat heater on in summer with my 09, but the butt gets too hot. It would be nice to have a back only selection, is that on this new model?

09 F-450 CC LWB King Ranch, the last with the Dana 110 Big Diff and 10 stud and big brakes on a 450... I would have to 550 with the 6.7 to get the big towing gear...

Yep, they are really cooled seats. We test drove a V-10 excursion back in 05 with them. It was my favorite thing about it. Its a very cool feature, lol. As for the sectional heated seats, our Chevy's have that. I just can't remember if its back or butt. Not sure if any Fords are that way.

I wish they would throw heated seats in the rear seats of the CC too, my pup sure would like 'em after a day out duck hunting!
