Well I wandered in to our AAFES Ford dealer here on post and got a quote on a '11.
CC SB XLT F-250 4x4 Cloth seats, XLT convenience pkg, drivers group, sync. $46K. I hate all the damn chrome you have to get, and losing the key cylinder in the pass door, all just to get SYNC. Also, that is with the 3.31 rear end. Have to look more into it, as I would like the FX4 package to get the locking rear end, but you can't have the 3.31's then. I really wish a guy could actually order a vehicle that YOU WANT, rather than one with some of the things you want, and a bunch of other junk Ford says you have to have because you want one thing.

I bought my 2010 SC SB XLT F-250 4x4 w/ FX4 through AAFES and it looks like the price didn't go up much for the 2011 model. I checked a bunch of options when ordering her and she came in at $47.6K after $3.5K worth of discounts. Careful, though, when picking your rig up in the CONUS; depending on your state, you're going to get hit hard with taxes before you can even get the key!

Also, 26 gal tank is all that is available on the SB models. Really hope the MPG they are talking about comes true! Otherwise, that's a lot of stops!

Another question. What is everyone's opinion on the alternator issue? I don't plan on putting a lot of accessories on it besides additional lighting. What would be better, dual alternators or the HD single?
