If this holds true with the 6.7….we are going to hear reports on this site of guys getting 22 mpg towing 30,000 lbs and 40+ mpg driving 80 mph…
If this is true….this is some bad azz fuel mileage and I'm getting a white KR....LOL |

Hey all,
I just joined but have been following the new engine for a while - here and elsewhere. The hypermiler that pulled 34 mpg and drove cross country actually stopped at my house along the way to show me the truck. I've been working at getting good MPG from mine, and wanted to see how the new Ford compared. It's outstanding in more ways than one, but the good MPG is for real. Anyway, he just did some highway runs at constant speeds that I think give some useful numbers you can compare to. Here they are Scroll down towards the bottom. This truck is CC short bed, 4x4, 3.31 rear end, tonneau cover. Don't remember what tires. The torque converter can lock up in 6th as low as 41 mph, which is where the best MPG can be had. I feel weird opening up this worm hole between a diesel pickup site and a hypermiling site - very different cultures. But both groups will have plenty of good things to say about this truck. |
