I had the 50-gallon Titan fuel tank installed in my 2016 F350 single rear wheel CCSB this morning by the folks at Power Stroke Magic in Houston. I chose them to do the work because of the good reviews I've read at a number of PowerStroke forums on the internet.
I purchased the tank from Summit Racing, had it shipped to my house, made an early-morning appointment for the installation, and showed up at PSM, my first visit to their shop.
It looks like Mike was handling the front office this morning. He took good care of me and put up with all of the various questions I pestered him with. By 7:00 AM, the keys had been tossed to Garrett (owner of PSM) and he got right to work on pulling the old fuel tank and installing the new Titan. I had let them know that I needed to wait in their lobby for the work to be completed so I settled in for what I thought would be 3-4 hours of wait time. Well, at 8:00 Garrett had parked the vehicle out front and Mike was figuring up my final bill. Man, I didn't even have time to warm the seats of their couch yet!
I occasionally pull a 36' 5th-wheel RV trailer and, of course, the stock fuel tank doesn't let you skip many gas stations so I am really looking forward to doubling my range. The only result I hadn't really anticipated was that the bottom of the new tank does sit noticeably lower than the stock tank. I would say that the bottom of the tank is right at the same level as the running boards. With this being a 4x2 truck and no suspension upgrades, my truck probably rides lower than the average F350 on the street but there is still plenty of clearance for someone who never goes off-road with a vehicle.
I'll let you discuss the installation price with the folks at PSM and you can do your own research for the best place to buy the tank but I will let you know that the total price for the tank, installation charges, and any shipping and tax charges was $1664.
I was treated well, the work was started on time and definitely to my satisfaction, and I drove away less than 75 minutes from the time I arrived. Can't ask for much better than that. Hats off to the guys at PSM.
Thanks,
Ben
