Well, most people from this section don't know me, the 6.0 guys know me well. I figured out after two head jobs that the only way to fix my 6.0 was with a 6.7.
The wife and I picked up the new truck Saturday, 2016 F250 with everything I wanted and nothing I didn't. As much as I wanted a Platinum, anyone who knows me on here know how my trucks get used; I don't have the heart to do that to a truck that nice nor the budget anyway so it all worked out, lol. My only "must haves" were:
-Crew Cab
-Short Bed
-6.7 Powerstroke
-4x4
-XLT with Center Console
-3.55 rear end with Factory E-Locker
This truck is equipped with all of the above and a bonus back-up camera in the rear view mirror. This one will remain substantially more stock than my 2006 as I opted for the 8 year, 100K warranty on purchase but I'll have a 4.5" Carli Lift, Snug Top and Bumper in the works shortly!
If my current mood is any indication of the road ahead, I'm in agreement. She's stock as a rock and I'm grinning ear to ear every-time I get behind the wheel.
PM'd you. Just got off the phone with Johnny and got my bumper in the works. Should be cool, I think it's his first one with fog lights designed around the Baja Designs Pro XL.
Yeah... that one just worked out that way. Need to turn my old truck in with a stock bumper and 05-07 bumpers are gold around here. If I'm going to buy a bumper, it's going to be for the new truck, not the one going into the dealership. The 16 is going on the 06 for it's not-so-grand departure.
Man the things I would do to have the suspension from the old truck lol......that thing was ah-ma-zing. Very excited to see what it does under a new truck and how everything works together.
Congratulations Dan. My 6.7 super duty has been the best truck I have ever owned. I hope your treats you as well as mine does. I have been on the fence about getting a 2016 just because I like to have a warranty, but I just don't have enough equity in my truck yet to keep the payments the same so that made my decision easy.
I'm pretty scared of what's to come from Ford in nanny controls and other safety fetuses so I might just bite the bullet. Really depends on my mood.
Keeping the drive train stock is a no brainer. They are rock solid and have excellent power stock. Plus doing a smog is much less of a hassle. I cannot wait to see the progress.
Thanks, Manny! Honestly, with how Sage treats his 2011 with 140K showing (he's had 37s since new so it's 10%-15% higher), he's had zero issues, even post warranty. Only thing I can remember is a broken axle they covered under warranty (believe it or not), a coolant leak and exhaust sensor; all of which were taken care of.
That's what made me decide to buy mine. Even if i have a payment now, I won't be spending $500/month in repairs on the old truck that isn't worth anything to avoid paying for a new one that is.
All in all, i'm stoked and will keep this thread updated. Got my Weathertech liners in and it's going off for a bedliner on Saturday.

Sad to see the 6.0 go, but even more excited to see you in a 6.7 ford than that ram you were talking about  my pops is looking into a 16 at the moment, so very interested in what you have to say about it over time. Congrats on the new truck!
The wife made me get the new truck and trade in the old one. She was the voice of reason. I had people lining up to buy my old rig but she convinced me the extra 1-2K wasn't worth the headache of the "enthusiast" that purchased the truck hitting me up every time there was an issue. If i had no faith in the truck, i wasn't going to sell it to someone as though they could.

As soon as there's something to add, I will toss it up! I want to put some seat time in the stock truck, remind myself why we do it and how good we are at it here at Carli. This thing rides like sh*t! Have 1,000 miserable miles on it but LOVE the 11+ cloth interior with the console!
Me too man, I loved that truck. She just didn't love me back. Hit me up anytime! I want to talk to you about your pro-eagle mount, anyway! I have one that I took out of the old rig and don't want to drille (4) 1/2" holes in the new bed.
If you use the rear seat a lot, Velcro the ends of the mat for the rear, some reason it ride up against the front seats and gets out of position. I'll take a pic explaining it better.
For the front bumper, are you going with a custom one? Or the CARLI one?
Yeah, had that issue with my weather-techs in my 06; luckily, don't use the back seat much.
Front bumper is going to be a Fusion. I just sent them my lights trying to get a one-off setup so we'll see what happens. For now, I'm driving around with no bumper on a brand new truck :-/
Yup! The first one I had sold when it wasn't for sale for an offer I couldn't refuse. My fabricator then started another one and i traded the truck in mid-build. That bumper needs a few tweaks to be completed then will go up for sale but I refused to give it to the dealer, thus the reason my new bumper was slapped on the 06 and I'm driving my 16 without a front bumper until my Fusion's done, lol.
Llumar 15% Ceramic Tint on all side windows. This stuff is amazing; there's nearly no heat transfer through it. Spent some good money on an exact fit Sunshade from the dealership for the windshield and the camper shell goes on next week so no tint needed on the rear.
Amp steps on! The steps from my 2006 bolted right up and all that was needed was a new brain and conversion (plug and play, no wire tapping) harness for $150 and I was in business.
dan, did you put 15% tint over the rear windows factory tint?
is your back slider factory tinted? I cant stand how dark my rear visibility is with the rear sliders factory tint combined with the shell door tint.
I've been looking at some amp steps but I worry about them deploying when over a boulder or log. do they have a safety sensor so they'll stop or retract when hitting something before fully extending?
I've tore up 3 sets of running boards driving on the ranch in Utah but I sure like them everywhere else.
when are you putting the lift on? I can wait to see it all done up, are you staying with the wildpeaks?
I did 15% over the front windows and 25% over the rear and they match SPOT ON! The rears are only colored glass, no heat protection from the factory so i wanted to tint them. I had the factory tint on my old truck with the shell and it wasn't great visibility but what do you expect? That's a lot of glass and I like tint so bye, bye night visibility.
The amps deploy and, if they encounter resistance, they bounce back up. Same if they're deployed and close the door, then put your foot on them to hold them down. They will stay down until electronically actuated again. I do this all the time to protect from door-dings in tight parking lots.
On the lift, we'll see! Might be soon
Yup, Keeping the Wild-Peaks!
