i had to remove the intake manifold to replace the turbo coolant line today.
Couldn't help but notice all the build up.
Cause for concern?
Ways to fix it?
I've been deleted for almost 70k miles.
Thanks.
Do you have a CCV kit installed? The reason I ask is that I see some oil residue in your picture. I know an issue with some of the 3.5L Ecoboost engines is that oil residue from the CCV was getting baked into the intake manifold and on the intake valves which results in a hard carbon build up. This could be what your seeing, especially since your truck has been deleted. Just a thought.
No. I was looking at other side of motor as the culprit. I figured it would be the egr, I just have that unplugged. But looking at CCV that makes sense. Guess it's time to take them both out. Which kit are you running?
