Just bought an Insight CTS2 monitor and will be getting it Wednesday. Trying to figure out where to mount it. I already have a radar detector hanging from mirror on blendmount, but what about the BK headliner mount. Anyone using it..

Looking for options myself...

I like the idea of the headliner mount but would like someones review before ordering

Curious about this too. I want to replace my MiniMaxx with a CTS2 so I can monitor more PIDs. I have a mirror mount for the Mini and would like to find a mirror mount for the CTS or a headliner mount. Does Blendmount make a mirror mount for a CTS2?

It does not appear that blendmount makes one for the CTS2... I am not sure it would fit anyway, not alot of room, and the CTS2 is fairly large with the 5 inch screen

Tried a BK mount with my CTS2, it doesn't fit right. Ended up with suction cup. The CTS2 is a bit taller and it just doesn't work.

I used a Garmin friction mount, one of the new flat ones, not the bean bag. It works great on the dash tray and my GPS goes to the right of it.

Shogren65 did you happen to take any photos with the BK and CTS2? I was looking at ordering one but not sure if you are saying it doesn't fit.

Sorry to revive an old thread but I thought I'd share some pictures of the CTS2 and the dash mount I installed today in my '09. The mount required a little bit of trimming in order to get it to conform to the factory dash. The color match is pretty spot on from Edge and the OEM plastics. Edge can definitely make some improvements to their mount in the "fit" department. The finish is very good though. I like the dash pod better than the windshield mount that comes with it. The top of the CTS2 hits the grab handle but the unit itself fits securely in the pod even on the lower of the two mounting positions you can position the pod insert to.

All those parts should work together. The only issue that I can see is how high the CTS2 would be as the grab handle might be in the way making all these parts incompatible. A Bully Dog GT/Mini Maxx is significantly smaller than the CTS2 so the actual pod might be too high unless you remove the grab handle. The Edge dash pod is also cheaper than buying the adapter kit and the Bully Dog pod.

Wonders if the Edge mount will work on 2015 dash. The dash in my truck looks the same in shape and design.

I was talking with the parts guy from the shop where I bought my stuff from about fitment issues as I thought it was weird that the pod fits some trim levels but not the higher end trim levels (Platinum and KR) on the newer trucks and he was saying that the newer dashboards have thicker plastics on them even though they look the same as previous model years and trim levels. I can't confirm this but thought I'd share what I was told. I used a Dremel to get a better fit by cutting some material away and I imagine you could do the same to make this pod fit your truck. All comes down to how interested you are in a DIY project you are. I figured the worst case scenario was I flushed $50 down the toilet if I messed up the pod. Definitely wasn't going to modify or cut the OEM plastics.

I know what you are saying aobut flushing 50 down the drain...have gone to casinos and flushed lots more than 50 at them....lol...

thinking seriously about trying one....

The suction cup mount isn't appealing to me either and unfortunately you're not going to find anything for 2013+ unless you make something or hack something up. The dash is a bit different.

I've got a bracket that I'm going to laser cut and form sometime early this week to see how it works. It goes under the trim piece on the side of the dash (on mine it's the woodgrain piece that goes around the headlight switch and air vent) and puts the CTS2 just beneath the grab handle angled towards the driver. Kind of hard to explain but I'll have some pics soon.

FX44AU,
Please keep us posted on your idea! I am very interested because like you I am not a huge fan of the suction cup mount. Makes things look out of place in my opinion.
THANKS!

I ordered different pieces of ram mounts. My plan is to attach it to the rear view mirror where it will be to the left of mirror close to the headliner. I have the blendmount for the V1 hope there is enough stem left for the ram mount. I should have all pieces in by tomorrow.

Here are a few pics of what I'm doing. I still need to paint it but I think it's going to work fine. Not as "finished" looking as an actual pod but better than the suction cup mount IMO. I purchased a dual t-tab adapter that will be here Wednesday to mount the CTS2 to the bracket.

Great idea! I think that will workout fine for you. Looking forward to seeing it finished. Thanks for sharing!!

Finished pics. Simple but I think it turned out great and looks much better than the suction cup mount!

That looks awesome!!!! When are you going to start selling them?? HAHA! Nice job I may have to look at doing the same thing. Did you make a drawing for it or just test fit the bends until you were happy with it?

It's drawn in CAD, laser cut and formed on a CNC press. The cut edge on the "prototype" was bad due to material quality.

Actually selling them is an option I'm working on with a site sponsor since he has powdering capabilities. Stay tuned and we will see what happens.
