Rear parking aid

With a trailer hitch inserted, the beeper goes off anytime I'm in reverse. My 2010 would do that for a couple of times but then was smart enough to realize the hitch was part of the truck.

Any solutions to this annoying beep other than turning off the rear parking aid?

Is this a monster air-bag or load-leveling hitch? Haven't had that happen.

My '15 beeps only if you're using the 4 pin plug. If you use the 7 pin, the truck should automatically turn off the parking assist.

I'm using a simple weight distribution hitch. When connected to the camper, things are fine. But when I'm disconnected, it beeps continuously when I'm in reverse. It thinks the hitch is an obstacle . Again, my 2010 would do the same thing but would stop after a couple of reversing because it would learn that the hitch was part of the truck..

True, but I am currently embarked on a 5 month trip from South Florida to Alaska and back with many 1,2, and 3 day stops. Taking the hitch off each time is a major PIA.

Hopefully future software upgrades will rectify this problem and make my 17 as smart as my 10 was. LOL.
