Reliability etc

so....
The 2015's are out now.Big power.Big Torque....
Big deal.
Is there any chance that we can get Ford to maybe catch its breath and maybe make the truck more reliable?
I know the marketing hype is about the Big Power and Big Torque and so on
(what get mostly anyones eye in the first place, right?)
but
these are expensive pieces of machinery, for that (to me)much coin we should not be seeing issues with the def system, regen systems etc.
When one of us buys one of these rigs it is,mostly,I think for work.
Lets work on the ball joints, brakes that last longer, electronics that are more dependable, better placementfor a spare tire, better materials on the inside of the cab(maybe a few different leather colors) etc
A lot of this is covered in the Ford are you listening thread(and it would be nice if there were),but if all the r&d goes to the engine, the rest may(or tend to),get lost in the shuffle.

I have a 2011 dually loaded and deleted. 80000 trouble free miles. Not a single issue. Seems reliable to me

The point is that the drive train has been continously improved and up graded and receives probably the lions share of r&d for the truck.
All well and good.We have a good, powerfull engine ,but the engine is not the whole deal.
No good to have that engine if a universal calls it a day,or you burst a brake line and or the fuel pump gives up
What I am trying to say here is,although the engine is the star of the show,
maybe there are other areas that SOME more money could improve also.
Cold Bore:I have to agree with you on that,80000 mi not a single issue,is outstanding!

The actual whole idea behind the 6.7 was supposed to be a 500000 mile engine. Everything in it was supposed to be for longevity. Lets face it, from a big power standpoint they could have upgraded the 6.4. This was different, no more lifting the cab to get to the turbo, no more egr problems or studded headbolts. They did have weakpoints(every new engine now days does), but H&S did a test on the 6.7. How much power could this motor make without blowing the engine. They did stud the heads. At 900 RWHP it ate the tranny, pulled the motor apart and showed NO signs of stress. The general concenus was this is a 1200 RWHP motor before it blows. The 6.6 Duramax blew the bottom end out just past the 950RWHP mark. Bottom line, the 6.7 is a damn expensive but strong motor. They threw meth, turbos, nitrous i believe, everything they could at this motor and it held together! If H&S cant break a motor, (other than odd things) then you should not be able to. This was a 2014 model they did this too. Chevy too.

What was all the talk about bending a rod at modest power levels over stock? I've been nervous running a 900 ft-lb, 440 rwhp tune.
