Dilemma: Higher Mileage 6.7 XLT or Lower Mileage 6.4 Lariat?
I've been researching these trucks quite extensively over the past few months and since, have gathered and fairly wide knowledge base around them.
That said, I have narrowed it down to either a used 6.4 or 6.7.
In addition to the more technical based research referenced above, I have also been studying the market as well. My budget would allow for a fully optioned 2008-2010 Lariat 6.4, or, a more "base model" XLT 6.7 that would most likely have more miles over the 6.4. That is my dilemma.
As mentioned, I already know the technicalities of these trucks and their differences pretty well but I would still love to hear any all opinions on what you folks would recommend in this case. Cloth seats is the biggest turn off in an XLT but I would plan would plan on most likely installing a set of leather Corbeau racing seats in place of the buckets. On a side note, that idea is actually somewhat intriguing as it would fit with a performance themed Carli suspension system that I would have planned for it but.
I realize the emissions systems in the 6.7 could be considered more "reliable" in some cases over a 6.4, however, either truck is eventually going to be deleted.
Is a 6.7 and the 6 speed worth it over a more luxury optioned 6.4?
