Front Bumper

Might be in the wrong section but what the hell. Can someone please tell me what purpose (if any) the bottom plastic fascia serves on the front bumper? This is on a 2012 F250, I simply want to remove it cause I think it looks like dog pooh. Thanks in advance

Aerodynamics. Not sure what kind of aerodynamic improvement/fuel mileage improvement it makes since we're driving a box on wheels but that's why it is there. Some people change them to a 4x2 valence as it is slimmer. Realistically, I'm sure the fuel mileage gain isn't significant/noticeable.

I just added the 2wd valence last week, because I agree, the 4wd valence looks like poo.
I have read that some people claim it wasn't aerodynamics that ford made such a large valence, and instead it's do to bumper height laws in certain states... Whichever the case may be, I'm much happier with the new valence. I went from a 7" to a 4" valence.

I am pretty sure its to help with fuel mileage, not sure how though. I did the same as stated above and put on the 2wd version.

Does anyone have any idea of gain or loss in fuel mileage?

Big L says he didn't see any difference.
I drove about 125 miles with it on this past weekend, and my liometer stayed where it always does...

So I took it off this evening, and now I think it looks funny with it off. I think this may be because I was used to it on. Will watch fuel mileage over the next few days since I drive 150 to 300 miles daily.

They do look a little odd to me too when they're completely removed.
