Brake Wear Our Frequency?

My rear brakes needed to be replaced at 60k miles (fronts are still fine). My '08 F350 still had plenty of pad left at 60k miles so I didn't expect to be changing them so soon on this truck... How have others fared?

Also, is a brake fluid flush required or recommended when you change the pads?

I just replaced mine at 85,000 miles. Had a caliber freeze up and the pad exploded and ruined the rotor. Two new rotors, 4 sets of pads, 1 new caliper = $750

I knew they were getting close and was going to change the pads and turn the rotors this next oil change. Ooops, should have done it last oil change, It would have been a lot cheaper.

My 2006 truck got about 60,000 miles per set. I'm getting life I think because I'm using the exhaust braking a lot more on this truck vs the pedal.
