2011 Block Heater?

I have been asked a question about the block heater on these 6.7 engines and I am uncertain if it is the same scenario as with my 6.0.

Do the 6.7's come from the factory with the block heater already installed?

THANKS in advance

My 2011 did not come with the block heater. From what ford said, they only put them on the ones in the states that needed them. So i was like "so WV doesnt get cold enough"...haha. Well at any rate, the dealer did install it on mine. Im sure if one was to order one, you get get it standard on the truck, but just buying off the lot, like I did, they did not come standard. Hope this helps. Now this was at my dealership in WV, so I can not say so for the other dealers.

mine came with the heater installed in the block, but it didnt have a cord. I purchased the cord and they screwed it in. I have yet to use it and the truck starts easily all the time and its been a pretty cold winter. It sits outside while i work a 12 hr shift at work and fires up like a gas truck. Pretty Amazing

I was afraid of that. I haven't had the chance to get under the truck yet to check it out. If WV doesn't get cold I doubt MO does either (6" of snow on the ground and still coming...) LOL

It's not the firing up he is wanting it's the faster warm up times. It just saves more fuel (idle time) and is not so hard on the engine (warm fluids move faster).

I have a buddy next door with a dodge and he brags that he doesn't plug his truck in even when its 6* outside. He also idles the thing for 1 hour to warm it up. Mine I just fire it up and go with the heater already blowing warm air. To each their own.

I will let yall know what I find out.

Re: 2011 Block Heater?

Iowa is one of the states that superdutys are supposed to come with a block heater. That being said, I bought mine in iowa, and no block heater. I haven't needed one yet either.

Was it listed on your window sticker as an option?

Ok just the first I've heard of getting a heater without a cord on a 6.7
