Wire going to wheel sensor too short after lift.

There's a picture below, but its the wheel sensor running down the radius arms. after the 4.5in. lift the wires would not attach back on to the radius arms so i left them hanging, bad choice. well one of them seems to have rubbed straight through somehow causing all kinds of warning lights to come on the dash lol. is there some sort of extension that was supposed to be installed?

I think you got to unsnap it from up behind the fender and bring it down. It should lengthen out quite a bit. It sounds like you got to get a new one. Might find one at a junkyard and I am pretty sure they are spendy from Ford. I think you got to pull brake rotors off to get to the sensor in the hub. It has been a while since I have messed with them.

Yeah I just glanced at it but I didn't see a way to bring it down any. You can see the plug end of the sensor in the picture mounted on the side of the frame, unless it comes undone right there.

I may splice the wires to see if they work before I have to buy a new one. I think they're like $80 from ford

Here's an interesting update. My dad has a 2012 F-250, all the same dash lights came on the other day. He looked at his and one of the sensor wires is broken in the same spot as mine, but the thing is his truck is completely stock. Anyone else had a broken wire?

that is not a TPS it's the ABS
and I have seen the TPS in the spare or pressurized tube trick is a fail anymore because they go to sleep and need the revolutions of a moving vehicle to wake them up

Hey Dillon measure where it comes out of the wheel or some easy to find spot to the connector I will measure mine
lets see if they shortened them up for your year

Lol yeah it's the abs wire, it is a sensor for the abs, traction control, and parking brake. We may take them to the dealership at the same time and see what the dealer says. I doubt they would replace mine under warranty since the lift but who knows.

I figure they owe your dad one for sure

but if they were cool they would see it's an issue and the lift wasn't the real problem

I'll measure it tomorrow from the farthest point I can get to at the wheel to the wire going into the plug at the connection on the frame rail.

Well here's the final update for this. Apparently this was nothing to do with my lift.

Our golden retriever that's about a year old has a chewing problem. She's gotten a vacuum line both front sensors, the parking brake sensor in the rear in multiple spots, and has almost chewed through my rear brake hoses..... Looks like we'll be one dog fewer before long. Between the wires on mine and my dads truck she's chewed through at least a grand, that's if the wires aren't able to splice back together. Fml
