trailer lights not working

Ok was going to go fishing in yhe morning and hooked up my boat to the four pin connecter on my truck and no lights work on the boat. So I hooked the boat to my dads truck and the lights worked. Any ideas why it is not working on my truck?

Might be a fuse for your hitch receiver wiring? Do you have a trailer to test the other plug with? Wish I could find a fuse diagram online to link you, probably in the manual but I don't feel like going outside, too cold lol

Thanks guys, well I checked all of the fuses and they were all good. I had the boat hooked up to head to the autoparts store and bam the lights on the trailer turned on. Come to find out my brother told me that the wiring on the trailer was shorting out. So it was not the truck hut the boat trailer.

If all Lights fail at the same time, you are most likely losing your ground (White Wire). Most expect to ground through the Hitch and don't even hook up the white wire, but it is good idea for security to go ahead and attach to frame of trailer.
