It has been proven that the chemical composition of diesel fuel can damage paint over extended periods(think years not weeks or months). Essentially what the research shows is that while that spill wont affect your paint today, or even this year, it in the future can potentially lead to clear coat peeling, paint bubbling, or even promote a spot for rust growth.
As for DEF, I don't know how much if any research exists about it's affects on paint. Although the DEF is largely made out of H20, so I would imagine that it's affects on paint are little if any.
