Gas put in 6.7 diesel fuel tank

Hello, I am in need of some info. I run a fleet of powerstroke trucks for my business. Today a new worker put gas in a 2012 F250 diesel truck. Said he drove it about 2 miles before realizing what he did and shut it off. He said it was running bad but had not died. He tried to restart it to try and get it in a parking place, but it would not restart. Has anyone gone thru this and what steps were taken. I am hoping a change out of fuel filters and emptying the fuel tank will fix but not sure. Thanks for all the help in advance.

I ran into the same issue at work one night. The guy said that he was tired and did not relize he put unleaded in his fuel tank. What I had to do was remove all gas from the tank, added about 2 gal of fuel just enough for the pick up tube to catch, disconnected the fuel line right before the first fuel filter (keep in mind this was on a friehgtliner delivery van), turned the key on so the fuel pump could push the remaing gas out of the fuel line, I drained his fuel filters (did not have correct ones in stock and could not get new ones from dealer till later in day), then added about 5 gal fuel to his tank and made sure all lights were properly tightend so it wouldnt leak, I started his van, it did run like crud for the first minute or so because it was trying to burn gas and diesel at the same time, after I let it sit there and run for about 5-10 minutes the engine was running normal again. Hope this helps out since this is coming from first had experince.

Call the dealer, I believe they will need to flush the fuel system, CP4, fuel rails and injectors. The insurance should cover this, not worth blowing your warranty on a new vehicle.

a guy at the fire house somehow put 32 gallons of gas in the firetruck the other day.. they made it about 3 miles until it started to run like crap and they realized what the dummy had done.. drained fuel tank, replace filters, flushed fuel lines, and a big tow bill. needless to say, chief wasn't happy
