What is this 6 yr / 120K miles warranty? I just bought my 2012 last month and got the maximum Ford Motor Company warranty which was 7yr / 100 K miles. It maybe a purchasers location issue regarding the term.
Considering that the 6.7 is only in it's second year, I wouldn't have bought my 2012 SD without at least a 100 K mile warranty. This engine hasn't been proven yet, even though I hope its a gem.
Warranty is insurance. Keep it. If you decide to get rid of it every extended warranty I have seen are refundable under a prorating system. Besides, putting your warranty return of $3,000 into paying down the cost of a truck that's 60 grand, is truthfully not much of a reduction. And the basic 36,000 warranty for a diesel engine is ridiculously low IMO. Diesels should run for 200,000 miles without a problem.
On a side note; Have you looked under the hood of the new 6.7? This giant engine is tucked in tight and a least half of it is tucked under the cab. Not too friendly for the home mechanic. I can imagine just an hours labor removing parts just to get to the meat and potatoes of this engine. I'm just sayin.
