Tailgate fell off, need help
This has happened three other times but this time it's pretty bad.
I was driving down the road with the tailgate down and hit a bump (nothing too bad) but the tailgate came off the hinge on the passenger side, bent the metal on the bottom right of the tailgate and scratched off a good bit of paint where it rubbed on the tailgate.
Like I said this has happened three other times but those weren't bad. When I got to where I was going I just slid it back in place, but no problems. This time it's bad.
Out of all the trucks I've had (several chevy's and one dodge) I've never had a tailgate come off the hinge (except when it was intentional). In my mind it is ridiculous that a $60k truck can't keep the tailgate on the hinges.
My question is:
Has anyone else had this happen?
What are the chances of me getting Ford to pay for this (considering I paid $3K for an extended warranty I would hope they are going to cover it)?
I'll send pictures when I get a chance.
