New Truck with Hail/Storm Damage?

I was wondering when a dealer has trucks that receives storm damage and they have there insurance appraiser come out. Do they then get a check from the insurance company and then the hold back money from Ford once the truck sells? Or how does that all work? Cause there a number of dealers around with trucks that have received some sort of damage. Has anyone bought a truck with some sort of storm damage? Are there any knocks against buying one? Cause I don't mind buying a truck with a couple of marks if the deal is good enough. Also any rough idea on what kind of money off one should see on a truck with some damage? I would think allot has to do with the amount or type of damage but I would like to go in with some sort of number in my head.

I think the dealer still gets the hold back $$$ unless they decided to sweeten the deal for you. Shouldn't be any different than selling the truck with no damage. Last year we had a nasty hailstorm come through that caused a lot of damage. A co-worker bought a new 2010 f250 diesel for $5k off, damage estimate was about $1200. I believe the ford dealer didn't do much for fixing any of the vehicles, they just discounted and got rid of them.

We recently had a bad hail storm where I live. A dealer was running a 'hail sale" and the general mark off was $4000.

Personally, I would hate to buy a brand new truck, clean it up, and it have dents all over it. I guess it wouldn't be bad for a work truck or something though.

Depending on the dealer and and how bad it is they may not even be able to sell the vehicle.
When I was a kid going to Votech for body tech, I worked at 2 different dealers. One was a Chevy and I was watching the guy unload a trailer full of brand new Suburbans. We one got away from him coming of the ramps and he ended up denting the back bumper, tail gate, the front bumper and header panel and after it was all said and done they were not aloud to sell the truck. They had to pull the VINs and donate it.
