I'm getting ready to install my in bed wiring harness for the fifth wheel and wondering if anybody could post up a pic or tell me where they drilled the 2" hole for the plug in the bed on these new trucks. I just want to make sure before I start drilling.
Thanks in advance![/QUOT e
The factory plug is mounted on the driver side of the bed in the rear corner area. It is centered 11 inches forward of the post and 6 inches down from the inside of the top of the bed rail. It is actually in the flat area just below the bottom edge of the bed rail. When installing my own plug I have preferred the front drivers corner, for me it is easier to get at---for a shorter person the back corner would be better. Mine was factory installed. (my camera is broken sorry no pictures)
I was disappointed to find that the factory installed plug is in the rear corner. This makes it useless for me when I do long hauls with my horses since I carry a water tank in the back of the box which will not leave space for the plug to be used.
