On the fence. Trade my 6.4 for 6.7...am I nutz?
I originally posted this message on the 6.4, then realize maybe its better here:
I've been contemplating the new 6.7 but don't know if it makes sense:
6.4 has navistar engine (will it be obsolete in the future?), major fuel guzzler, and not very shade tree friendly (cab off for repairs)
6.7 has ford engine, much better fuel mileage, no cab off for repairs.
My 08 450 dually only has 12,000 miles and is fully loaded with king ranch interior.
The 2011 is fully loaded too except has lariat, I prefer King Ranch.
Question: does it make sense to pay $17K difference to have the newer truck?
I know i can get better fuel mileage and horsepower/torque with modern tunes, but I don't think it will be as much (consistently) as the newer 6.7 from what i've been reading (fuel mileage).
The 6.4 body/equipment seems much more robust, heavier, industrial strength.
The 6.7 seems a little light-weight.......
would love to hear your opinions
