Correct me if I'm wrong!
following quote from new Cheby HD
"A fascinating feature in this HD Truck is the exhaust brake system. This uses the turbine control of the turbocharger and compression of the engine to generate back pressure, so that the vehicle slows down without application of brakes. This has been integrated into the cruise control feature and will vary the braking according to gradient and vehicle load. The new smart exhaust brake system is designed to enhance brake pad life and eradicate the risk of brakes overheating during extended descents. Indeed, the exhaust brake system will make the vehicle a perfect choice for any heavy-duty task and thereby making the Chevy Silverado HD a wonderful truck in the days ahead."
How is this different from the exhaust breaking my '05 6.0 has in Tow/Haul mode? I very seldom have to brake when going downhill towing my 30' 5th wheeler. Or are they just now catching up with Ford?
