Hello Forum
First Post and i am not positive i am in the right spot either
Have a simple but puzzling question ( for me at least ).
I cannot seem to find Rear Spring Codes except for earlier year model Strokes
Mine is a 2011 4x4 diesel long bed
Door sticker says CCLL for spring configuration with 6K frt and 7K rear rated.
Usually its a daily driver but pretty sure i max it out with mulch occasionally helping my mother keeping up her garden
Rather not snap a spring
I want to weight it fully loaded to get an idea how much truck and wet mulch really run
Does anyone have Fords new spring codes or know what they are?
Thanks RH
Not sure what you're asking specifically, your rear GAWR is right there on the door placard - rated at 7000 max. That figure is the maximum capacity of the lowest rated component in the stack (axle, spring, tires, wheels). If you swap out one of the lower components for one with higher capacity, the GAWR then moves to the next lowest rated component and so on... Note the SRW Ford Sterling is only rated at 7280 anyway, so even if you threw a dually conversion on, the axle is still the limiting component.
You can find all the specifications for your model year at the below link.
There is no way to overload a SRW f350 with wet mulch. On a long bed you are talking about 3 yards of mulch, nowhere near the 3,000lbs of payload. Stone or loam, different story.
Should have seen my 2004 LB loaded to the top with river stone. OOOPPPPPPPSSSSS.......steering was a tad light feeling but I got it home safe. Won't do that again.
@RedHeeler: Recently weighed my 2015 CCLB to find the read end is 3640lbs. That gives me an ability to load 3300 lbs. I do have the OEM overloads as well.
In the spring of each year I help my brother in law out at his landscaping company working the office in his material center (mulch, stone, loam etc). It's AMAZING what people will come in to buy with their ranger or tacoma etc. It takes a lot to not laugh at them.
Even the little 4 x 8 trailers that come in and they want to put a yard of loam on it with 8" tires...
Thanks everybody
That link was what i was looking for
Guess i wont worry about overloading with mulch anymore
I am able to drive to a point on this road and have to transfer material to a 4 wheeler. Running 1' 1/2 rock and bull rock as the trail isnt so hot when it rains Not hauling rock in this truck it would sink like a rock
A work in progress
