How often should an 08 6.4l go into regen mode while traveling 60mph not hauling?

Each truck is different. Mine used to to it about once a tank full empty, and up to 4 times a tank full towing. But for some reason it doesn't go into regen anymore

My truck has 2160 ml on it, it has gone in to regen 9 times, some times for 10 to 15 min. I pulled trailer 300 mil out of the 2160. I dont know if this is ok or not. My buddy has a duramax and it did regen at 30000 mil the first time. I know maxs are dif but I am concerned.

Was the software update a recall or just somthing the dealer did for you to solve a problem?

Yes, Spartan is a chip of sorts, it reprograms your pcm(computer) with custom tunes written for your vehicle. They also can Disable the regen and EGR on the 6.4's. You can get a DPF filter on tune or delete it which is what i would reccomend. For the tuner and dpf/cat delete your looking at around $1400. Should you need to go in for warrenty work you have to return it to stock first unless your dealer is mod friendly. Some of our site sponsors can hook you up with a package deal, Look at Cobbs performance, Spartan etc... in our sponsors colum.
