Engine and Tranny Temp Gauges Question

Hey there..

I have a 2008 6.4L F250 and I have a question about the temp gauges.

When the truck is cold, I would expect to see the engine temp come up first. A lot of times the transmission temp gauge comes up waaaay before the engine temp. I would expect this to be the other way around, especially when the truck is not being driven and just idling.

Theres no problem, just something I noticed and was curious about.

Thanks,

It's normal for the tranny gauge to come up first and usually a lot quicker.

Yep its perfectly normal for those "gauges" to do that. Get yourself an edge cts or similar gauges setup and you can see what the temps are. Then you can really see how wacky those factory ones can be.

There are still parts moving in the transmission and the pump is pumping. Friction=heat
