So Friday the truck threw P2002 code. Something about DPF not happy with international affairs. Truck has 134k on it. I proceeded to take the DPF off and pressure wash it. HOLY SOOTBALLS!!!! For 30 minutes all manner of crap came out of it. Flushed it in both directions and stood it up to dry. The local dealer wanted $250 to bake/clean it out. Hopefully this will hold me over until I delete.
I will have to stealth delete the DPF guts (live in SoCal), but knowing how damaging the regen process is I think its necessary.
By stealth delete do you mean your going to hollow out the guys of your dpf? I'd recommend just replacing it with a straight pipe in case you ever need to throw that dpf back on and smog. Idk your situation but my truck is registered as ag use so I don't need to smog it but in sure that day will come where I need too. Just some food for thought!
Ya I've been thinking it over and a straight pipe isn't that spendy. Especially since I don't have to deal with winter road issues, it won't be that hard to swap every three years.
I made my own pipe for $50, I cut off the front of the cat so I have the joint at the downpipe then I ran it back to the exhaust pipe.
