Dealer repair check engine light $3700 later

Took my truck in because engine light came on and went into a limp mode. Tech couldnt get the sensor out of the pipe so had to replace pipe. Steering box was leaking they were going to install a gasket kit. The spline shaft was worn out . Pitman arm wobbled out as well 6" lift on the truck. The service manager said brakes were bad on all 4 $800 for that . There was a down pipe that he said was rusted out i told him i would like to keep the old parts. Pipe had surface rust thats it . Overall they did a good job but the pipe thing kinda bugged me. Also the service rep i was dealing with was there when i picked up the truck didnt go over the repairs and recommendations just said pay the lady. They didnt even wash the truck oh yeH here is the best part. The gave me a coupon for $10.00 off the service ! I laughed said keep the change . Not bitter just thought i would share my dealer experience .

I had my old 99 in for a recall, had replaced my pads literally the weekend prior to bringing it in, and they tried to tell me that all 4 needed to be replaced, I was so pissed and asked to see who/how they determined it and they somehow got my truck confused with some other truck in the bay I looked there was no other superdutys in the bay.


2000 DRW CC 7.3

Its a shame how bad of a wrap dealers have . But its true they just dont get it .

Yup sure did , live and learn . I heard that the pitman arm nut should be torque to like 350 . It looks like they put a pair of channel locks and tightened it

I had someone get snotty with me, asking me why I charged him so much to check all systems on his trailer. Ummm, because it took that long.

Then asked if I could just fix the brakes and not charge the diagnostic time.

They asked you to do work, you said yes, they charged you.


And wash it? Are you a princess? If you would have asked, they might have. But I don't throw in washes for free just because you asked me to do work for you and I billed you. It's business.

If they had marked it, been rude, screwed you it'd be different. From all we have to go off of right now, you asked for work, they offered more services, then billed you.
