Adding auto headlight switch for XL truck

I was just looking parts up on tascaparts.com and found a auto headlight switch and a sun load sensor. My truck is a XL with the manuel headlights. Has anyone just switched these things out and had the auto headlight? Is it that simple?

You mean just the interior switch? I've switched mine, works fine. No sun load sensor though, just always on and fog options.

Do you think that these trucks are wired up for the sun load sensor and the sensor is just not put in? I really dont want to take my dash apart to find out.

Your guess is as good as mine, I would think if you gave your local dealer the VIN and asked them to find that part, if it was on the truck they could and if it wasn't on the truck they wouldn't be able to find it, not sure.
