So looking at getting an 08 F250. Truck has the DPF deleted, but the EGR is still in place. Has a Spartan Tuner (DashDaq XL?). Question is, does deleting the DPF without deleting the EGR result in any issues? Truck has 85k on it, and is very clean, at a reasonable price.
I plan on doing the EGR delete when I get it, and putting an exhaust on it and that's about it performance wise.
Question about the Spartan, the guy that's selling the truck is going to give me the tuner as well. I have to get it relicensed to me to be able to put different tunes on it? The truck runs like a raped ape now, so don't want to change anything, but I'd have to tune it when I do the EGR delete I'm guessing?
Sorry for the newb questions, but new to diesels, and new to Fords. (Don't tell anyone about that last part )
If it has a dpf delete tune then it should already have an aftermarket exhaust atleast dpf delete. You won't have to re-license the tuner it is locked to the truck not the owner. All you should have to do is remove the tune and reload it will ask if you have egr delete or not.
Get in touch with the guys at Spartan they can help you out. The dashdaq is not preloaded with egr delete tunes and will not ask you. It will simply give you a list of the tunes already loaded on the tuner. Unless previous owner is running the egr off tunes then you will have to download them from Spartans website
