Joined the 6.4 crew today!

Itís official, after a year of missed deals and walking away from the table, I purchased a 2008 F250 crew 4x4 . Iíve put in a fair share of reading in the forums and thank everyone for the great information that helped me make an informed decision and a great deal. With that said where is everyone in the Houston, Tx area getting there work done? Iím looking for a reputable shop to preform anything I canít do on my own.

Capt thanks I'll make sure to have the truck checked out at one of those two shops. I still have not taken delivery and want to have it looked over while I still have my 3 day right of refusal.

Fussgus I like their appearance but haven’t driven it at night yet. I do have a pet peeve about the headlights and the fog/driving lights being a different color light, so that will need to be addressed.

here are some things that you can do if you havent already.

oasis report- vehicles service history done at a stealership with vin.

check around radiator drain plug. a bad one will leak around the endtank crimp.

look under and around the engine and trans for leaks. rear main and cam
seals are a common point.

oil and trans dipsticks will reveal any unusual fluids or a lack of maintenance.

you wanna make sure the ac works especially the electronic controls and blend doors.

do some full throttle runs and look for coolant leaking from degas bottle. if its wet then its a bad cap or blown head gaskets.

anyways good luck to you. if this isnt the right one another one will come up. youre in truck country.
