Anybody upgrade their oil cooler?

My mechanic told me today that the factory oil coolers on these truck were a weak point. Is it worth upgrading while I do the EGR delete? If so where can I buy a good oil cooler at?

I would only use an OEM oil cooler personally. I don't know of any company that makes an upgraded oil cooler. The only other system I would do is the bulletproof diesel system.

h&s minimaxx, 5" flo pro, 4" down pipe, no limit cold air intake, dirty diesel EGR delete with intake elbow, 6.0 exhaust manifolds, custom up pipes, ported intake manifold, Apex 71mm LP turbo, Rudy's cold side pipe, diesel site coolant and transmission filter, diesel site intercooler boots, ccv mod, bilstein shocks, gogo dd solenoid, HID lights, Airdog II 165, PMF traction bars, PMF drag link, moshimoto aluminum radiator

x2 on oem. They're not weak. They are susceptible to clogging due to silicates in the coolant and debris and casting from the block. A good flush can revitalize a partially clogged cooler and bring down running temps a couple degrees.

Mine dropped 3-4 degrees after I added a filter for 8k miles and then had a proper flush done...filled it back up with EC-1 Final Charge...now my delta is around 6-8* unless I am towing or my front cover is on...

2008 F250 XLT CCSB- 90k, 5R110W, b&w hide-a-ball, DIY coolant filter, final charge, dieselsite boots, xrt pro, CAI, SGII, egt gauge, DIY egr cooler blocked/bypassed, viper alarm/ remote start, P/S filter
06 VW Jetta TDI- all options, 100k, stock for now...catching up on maintenance...
04 Triumph Thruxton, cr special carbs, TPUSA cams, MAS side-covers, Lossa stubby exhaust, pingel petc*ck, etc...
