Almost had to look for a new truck.

Well I was heading home from work last Wednesday at about 5:00, we have been getting an unusual winter. We have gotten about 2 yards of snow with it blowing. Well that day we had about 6 inches, so I left work a little early. Stopped for 120$ of fuel then headed home. I realized that these trucks are not invincible in snow and ice even though they are really good. So say what you will but I was going about 40 in a 55, when a dumb a** in a nissan exterra going 60 at least lost it coming straight at me. So I taped the brakes and well I guess I was on ice because the truck did a pretty awesome 360. Well until I saw the telephone pole coming fast grab, I thought. Well as I hit the shoulder I threw it in 4x4 as a last ditch effort, the all terrains caught I was back in control. I missed everything and buddy in the Nissan. He ended up in the ditch across the road. I said to myself well I'm not helping you and drove off. Waved as he flipped me the bird. Owell he drove like a d*cksmack so I wasn't helping him. Anyways I just wanted to share this story and hopes everyone drives safe and keeps it shiny side up.

this is why it's nice to know your ESOF is up and running

nice save

I wouldn't have stopped to help him either but I might have contemplated beating his a.s.s for flipping me the bird

I'm happy I saved it, I love this truck. However the truck can be replaced. I about messed my drawers when I looked up and saw the telephone, two 6x6 post sign and gas meter about 6 feet from my truck. I would have been upset if I got the 3 objects. But the main point is no one got hurt. However if buddy would have hit me if I was ok I would make sure to push his pos about 50 feet. I guess for him it's lucky I was paying attention cause I have about 5000-6000# on him. And would have got him in the drivers door. Well no one got hurt so I guess that's the main point.

The actual reason I put it in 4x is so I could get out of the ditch had I avoided the poles.

If there's a chance of snow or ice at all I just lock my hubs and drive. I don't trust the vacuum system at all. These people in Arkansas where I'm at don't know how to drive in it. Bunch a dummies. Glad to hear it worked and you and your truck are okay though!
