Engine swap advice :)

Hi everyone I am new to this forum. I thought I would ask you professionals some advice. So tomorrow I am going to purchase a 2008 F350 that has a 6.4 diesel that is blown up. the truck only has 124000 km now. I have a engine from a f550 that has only 2000 km it is a 2008 6.4 also. It was in a truck that had a slight fire. I plan on putting this motor in the king ranch. So before I go through all this work I figured I should ask here if there is anything I should do to this motor while I have it out of the truck. I know you're all problems with the 6.4's that can be remedied. I'm hoping to have a fairly reliable truck when I am done any help would be appreciated thanks

studs and egr delete.

figure out why the first engine blew up. It might help in the long run.

depends on where the fire was. fires are probably worse than flooded vehicles.

Ok thanks egr and studs
The owner of the truck says. That the camshaft in the truck is gone. Says they took off the valve cover and says its a mess in there. The engine I have had a small electrical fire in the harness on the lh side under the good. I am going to assume that everything electrical on my engine is scrap. I will use all sensors and electrical off current engine.

What do you plan on using the truck for? If it was me I would do studs, egr delete, and pushrods.

I would personally do some digging on this swap before turning any wrenches and spending any money as the 350 6.4 and the 550 6.4 are rated differently for power/torque. Whether the rating is the only difference, I'm not sure...but I think there may be some other differences as well.

Hmmm I was under the impression tat the long blocks wer the same?
I am going to use he truck for mainly a daily commuter. I will tow sleds in the summer and a 19' boat in the winter but nothing too crazy. As far as the egr delete is concerned. I m from Ontario. Here we have to have emission tests done every two years. Will the egr delete make the emissions worse?

If you have the money you could do the international pistons or upgraded HD pistons while the motor is out. Its not unheard of for the factory pistons to crack.

egr/dpf delete and an SCT with custom tunes.

That would be the most reliable. What are your plans for the truck?

if you plan on big hp numbers and whatnot, think about studding it and doing 6.0 manifolds and custom uppipes.

Whereabouts in Ontario are you?
