ReGen Again.. UGH

I have 72,500 miles.. I purchased with 68k miles
This last weks since i mainly do city drive i received a Exhaust cleaning twice today and 1 time last week..

Im starting to noitice a regen once every 1.5wks..

My truck is stock.. I don;t have an extended warranty, but i still want to purchase. Im not keen on dumping alot into maintenance or breaking parts.

Should i consider a tune, or be afraid of the california pop up EPA?

If you don't like spending money on maintenance, then you shouldn't have bought a diesel.

He's right. Diesels require much more attention and maintenance than a gasser. If you want less maintenance then you need to switch back to a gasser. Or atleast a diesel that doesn't require regens- a 7.3 or a 6.0.

I should clarify I don't mind spending $$ on maintenance,
I just want this thing to last.

buy a tune and a delete kit and swap it in and out every year for your emission checks

California they pull over diesels for random checks from what I've seen other ca members post on here. If you get caught without the emissions equipment on there that won't be a cheap fine. I saw in another thread that different oils were effecting the frequency of regens- might want to look around in the 6.7 section a little more. Other than that if you don't want regens go to an older truck that doesn't have the emissions stuff on them.

I have an '08 6.4 350....I had the regen popping about once a tank. I tried different fuels, different fuel additives, etc. Eventually, I took it into ford when the check engine light came one. They diagnosed for about a week and decided that it needed a new DPF...at 52,000 miles....pretty ridiculous. Anyway, about $2300 later, I was still going into REGEN way more than the truck should have based on my usage.

Recently, I switched from Motor Craft oil to Rotella. I only Regen now about every 600-1000 miles, all highway. I don't know for sure, that it was the oil, but I thought I would share the story in case it helps.
