DPF-R+4.0

I have had the DPF-R+4.0 installed for about 2000 miles. First I installed it without the economy tune. My mileage was about 15 combined and she ran good. After a while I installed the economy tune and my mileage went to 19, great. But along with the economy tune I got a random miss at idle. Truck runs great. My Scan Gauge II shows no codes. I put it back to stock and reloaded just the DPF- tune, no miss. Put the economy tune back, got the miss. I called Sam at GearboxZ and explained the problem. He had no answer except that I might have a weak injector that was showing up with the econ tune. He did suggest I disconnect both batteries, ground one + lead to erase the PCM memory and let the truck relearn. Any of you guys have an opinion?

Does the miss happens every time that the A/C compressor engages? At idle, my truck did do something as a hiccup with the DPF-R+. Used it for around two years without any problems. But I am not sure if you are talking about the same.

Not sure about the AC. The miss might happen several times of times within a minute and then again if might happen once in a minute. I'll check to see if there is a corelation.

Forgot to tell that I sold the DPF-R+ to a friend and his truck does the same as the mine did. At idle has a hiccup every time that the A/C engages and does it only with the DPF-R+ program but not with the DPF-R. He is already used to the hiccup, as I was, and is very pleased with the program. Both trucks are 2008 models.

Subscribed. I am interested in this very programmer so I'm curious as to what the issue was. What kind of power gains did you experience?

I really wasn't looking for power adder, just DPF delete. The DPF-R 4.0 has a 40hp adder in the economy mode. Didn't see much difference in power, but the added fuel mileage was 4mpg, by hand. I very satisfied with the mileage. I tow a 28 foot 5th wheel camper and the truck does great at 12 mpg and I'm not killing the motor with the stupid DPF and regens.

I currently am running the DPF-R 4.0 with the 70HP Econonmy Tune. My truck does the same thing, has a hiccup when the truck has the A/C running or defrost on. No other problems at all. Talked to a few other friends and they also have the same problem.

On a side note...I do have a DPF-R 4.0 for sale. Installed in March. Switching over to Spartan.

Can you stack this with another programmer? I just picked up an SCT that I want to use as a gauge.
