Unidentified Piece Found on My Truck Info Please.

Well yesterday, my brother and I were looking under the dash on my truck (08 f250 6.4) and found this (pictures below hopefully). Not sure what it is, looks like a small box, and a push button, but there is a small light mounted near where you turn the headlights about 1/4 inch big light, very small almost looks factory sorry I didn't take a picture of the light. But to get to the point this button when held in for about 5 seconds turns on this little light.

The small black box (pictured) that has what looks to be a turnable dial with a "min" and a "max"

Can anyone tell me what this is? Appears to be set on "min"

I have pushed it while driving and didn't notice anything strange?
I thought it was some form of lockup switch, smoke switch or exhaust brake.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like an alarm box to me. The button is if your remote dies and the alarm is set you can still start the truck. While your alarm is going off you hold that button down and turn the key and it will start the truck and disable the alarm from going off. You can also use the button to set the sensitivity of the alarm. Mine old alarm also had a toggle switch attached to turn the alarm system on and off.

Looks like a trembler/shock sensor switch for an alarm.

Oh talk of alarm? (what would the min and max adjustment be for?)
Might have something to do with this on the top of my windshield?

That looks like my viper remote start antenna...maybe the min-max is for sensitivity...but that looks just like the one on my viper...I had to buy a keypad off eBay for mine when I got my truck...previous owner couldn't find the remotes, but it's easy to delete all the old keypads and program a new one...took 10 mins max...
