state inspections on diesel trucks

I was in a diesel performance shop yesterday and the owner told me that in 2014 state inspections will involve checking for environmental parts such as exhaust and egr equipment. Has anyone else heard anything like this?

Just call the state's EPA Department or whoever would control that and ask them

I keep hearing rumors of it. But that's all I hear. I haven't heard anything concrete yet.

Here in Southern Colorado they don't check anything. Now in Northern tree hugger gun hating Colorado they do inspect and I hear they are gonna get tougher as well.
