Motor Gremlin On Ride Home

Drove my 08 KR approximately 35 miles to work yesterday as the daily beater is having ac problems and didn't want to sit in traffic in the 90* heat with no ac. Truck ran great on the way in and sat in parking lot in the shade all day. Started fine and seemed normal at the start of the trip home. Got on interstate after around ten minutes of driving with all gauges normal no CEL on. Jumped on excelerator going around 65ish to pass a car and nothing. Turbo would not spool up so no exceleration at all. No other symptoms in terms of smoke out the tail pipe or dashboard lights etc.

Drive another ten or so miles pulled off shut her down and popped the hood. No weird sounds or smells and everthing looked normal. Started back up jumped on her hard to get back on the road and turbo spooled up normal and it took off like a scalded dog. Drove it to work again this morning and everything seemed fine.

Truck is an 08 with a remanufactured motor that has around 13,000 miles on it. Just like with first motor, oil changed every 5,000 miles fuel filters every second oil change. Always use ford filters and diesel fuel treatment each fill up. Drain water seperator beginning of each month and fuel filters were changed less than three weeks ago.

Any thoughts on what may have happened?
