Broke a part while putting my EGR Delete kit on..

Hi guys, well it took me three days but finally got my PTP EGR delete kit on. That was a hard task for me. I am not even a fair mechanic or self fixer. When i took the battery box out i broke the nipple at the bottom where the vent tube plugs in. IS this a concern for me to have to buy a new battery box? Also i see on this site that half and half on here says you need a waste gate after a delete. Is that true? thank you guys.

You don't need a wastegate.

The part you broke came off of the vacuum reservoir, which is the bottom part of the battery box. I suppose you could try just clamping off the hose, but your vacuum might be slower to respond for things like 4wd and air conditioning.

You could probably fix it with the right parts, but I don't think the whole assembly is terribly expensive. You can probably find something at the hardware store that would work. It's technically drivable in its current condition, but your vacuum pump will run constantly with that hose unattached.

Also, removing the EGR coolers is big job. I bet it feels good to have it done!
